The Trustee Board is a team of volunteers who work together, as charity Trustees, to make sure the Scout Group is run safely and legally. It includes a Group Lead Volunteer, a Chair and a Treasurer, as well various ex-oficio and co-opted members.

I am a keen grower of all things edible, having taken over an allotment in 2024 and with the ambition to grow at least 50% of our family's vegetable requirements ourselves. I also sew, opting to make do and mend as much as possible. Otherwise, you will find me cooking or reading, quiet activities that offer me much joy.

I was a brownie and a girl guide in Dorset, where I grew up. My family were heavily involved with my mum being a leader for many years.
I find the ethos and values of Scouting match my own - to provide a positive environment for all people to come together to gain skills and a sense of inclusion and belonging. My youngest son wanted to be involved and as a "do-er" I felt compelled to support the 46th to continue doing what they do so well.
The skills that young people, and adult supporters/volunteers, are able to gain in a safe and welcoming environment.

My hobbies are more indoor based. I do enjoy walking. I love walking in the Lake District as well as The Peaks and The Cotswolds. I love a good book and enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles.

As a young person I was a Brownie and Girl Guide. As a Guide I was a helper with both the Rainbow and Brownie groups.
My older children enjoyed being a part of Scouting when they were younger and more my younger children are enjoying all of the benefits of being a part of a Scout group. This is my way of supporting an amazing organisation, of giving something back.

Spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading and walking.

I was a Brownie and Guide and earned my Baden-Powell Award. I also grew up taking part in the Gang Show.
Scouting and Guiding is in my family, with my Grandad being County Commissioner and responsible for the start of Rough Close, Mom was a Guider, Dad was a Scout leader and Quartermaster at Rough Close, so I grew up there. I became a Cub leader at the 36th/51st and then a Scout leader at the 90th. Scouting has always been a part of my life.

Climbing, car & transport design, amateur politics.

I hadn't ever been involved in Scouts prior to our son joining Cubs several years ago, though I went to a school in Hampshire which I think was heavily influenced by Scouts. There were lots of outdoor activities, and even a structure of Patrols.
I felt the Scouts are doing a lot of good for our son, and I really like what they do, so I was keen to contribute, without a clear idea of how to. So when the parents were being asked to volunteer as Trustees, it seemed an excellent first step. It's been very interesting seeing how it all works! It'd be hard to single out an area where I can contribute or teach the Scouts anything specific, so being a Trustee has been a great way to get involved. It's a bonus that the time commitment has not been onerous!
My own favourite part has been helping to light the fireworks for our group's annual Bonfire Night party.

Hiking, long dog walks in the countryside, computer games, reading.

Beavers, Cubs & Scouts at the 46th.
My parents were both Cub leaders at the 36th/51st in Earlsdon before I was born, and then moved to the 46th as Cub leaders when they moved to Allesley Park, this meant it was inevitable I would join the movement.
Seeing the joy in the young people’s eyes when they learn a new skill or take part in a new activity they have never tried before.

My hobbies are reading, listening to music going to the gym. I also love to visit new parks with the children.

As a child I went to brownies from the age of 7, then I attended guides and did my young leader ship with rainbows and brownies, life carried on and unfortunately I didn’t carry on. But when my children were born I very much wanted them to have the opportunity and experience that I so much enjoyed as a child.
I joined Scouting to help by giving back as they have given so much to my children and helped them with their confidence so much it’s lovely to see kids being kids and having fun and learning life skills.

Watching footie. Up the Villa!
