Squirrels

Squirrel Scouts are young people aged 4-6. Our Squirrel Drey consists of three Scurries of up to 4 Squirrels. The meetings are fun based and structured around making friends, playing games, going on visits, helping others and badge work.

They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of sleepovers. We generally run 1 sleepover per term. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it's a real adventure for them.

When do we meet?

Term-time Mondays
17:3018:30

What do we wear?

Squirrels are easily recognised by their distinctive bright red polos and sweatshirts, dark trousers and group necker (which is supplied by the group). Find out more about uniform here.

Hobbies & interests

My hobbies are reading, listening to music going to the gym. I also love to visit new parks with the children.

How many years have you been Scouting as a leader/helper?

3

Were you part of Scouting (or something similar) as a young person?

As a child I went to brownies from the age of 7, then I attended guides and did my young leader ship with rainbows and brownies, life carried on and unfortunately I didn’t carry on. But when my children were born I very much wanted them to have the opportunity and experience that I so much enjoyed as a child.

Why did you join Scouting?

I joined Scouting to help by giving back as they have given so much to my children and helped them with their confidence so much it’s lovely to see kids being kids and having fun and learning life skills.
